Atlas Rubicon is a web based instructional tool offered by Oakland Schools. It provides for teachers to organize, communicate and share information regarding curriculum and lesson pacing. It is a useful tool for managing curriculum and sharing instructional best practices across grades, subjects and schools. This is a great way to utilize technology to bring relevant information to those involved in teaching and developing curriculum. Our entire school district is pleased to have this instructional resource.
I assisted in facilitating a workshop for Professional Learning using Atlas Rubicon with our entire district. It allowed for teachers, away from the classroom, to browse and explore the many benefits and lessons in the Rubicon. It provided a vehicle for conversation among teachers and an opportunity for questions and queries.
Teachers at Madison Prep often utilize the Rubicon when looking for supplemental lessons as well as a way to check for pacing within units of instruction. Many of our staff have contributed to the Rubicon by posting thier curriculum to be shared, as well.
